Day One: 1 Sept. 2010, 9:49PM

Wow what a day…I’ve spent the last 24 hrs on a plane: 3.5 to Chicago, 1.5 to D.C., 9ish to Vienna, and another 3.5 to Tel Aviv.  I’m so tired I can barely think straight!!  And this whole 220 vs. 120V thing is irritating lol, and I dearly miss being able to access the internet for small things (NO, not just for FB etc.).  Anyway, I met some fun people today and had a good time despite how tired and hot I was.  I LOVED Vienna, it already feels more comfortable to me than home—I’m considering moving there haha.  It just seems like a nice, quiet place that’s out of the way.  I watched ‘Date Night’ and ‘Iron Man 2’ on the plane, played chess and whooped the computer on hard, and between D.C. and Vienna I was tripping out because my checked carry-on got lost and they barely found it in time for me to race to the next terminal.

The Jerusalem Center is pretty awesome, despite the heat and humidity that will drive me absolutely up the wall the entire time haha.  I was kind of disappointed when I got here because I didn’t feel much of anything exciting, until we went to orientation—it was night time and the Ramadan calls to prayer had just finished up when they called us into the auditorium and opened the windows to us (with the awesome organ playing).  We started with an opening hymn, #7.  Anybody who knows me well knows that I don’t cry often, especially at religious events.  But I lost it during this song—I could hardly get the words out, it hit me SO hard that this is the real deal; this is the place the Savior walked, and God still loves Jerusalem.  We went to a couple class orientations and it seems like I’ll be pretty busy reading, but hopefully I’ll still get time to enjoy myself.  Well, it’s 10 and as I said I’m exhausted.  Until next time!
